Founded in 1967, the union has grown from a small milk marketing initiative into a national powerhouse. Today, it processes up to 700,000 litres of milk daily under the trusted Mount Kenya Milk brand and serves as the backbone of Kenya's dairy industry.

The Meru Dairy Story

Meru Central Dairy Co-operative Union was established in 1967 by three cooperative societies with a simple goal: to help farmers market their milk collectively. Today, it is Kenya's largest dairy processor, serving over 140,000 farmers through more than 150 cooperative societies.

The union processes up to 700,000 litres of milk daily under the trusted Mount Kenya Milk brand, with a presence stretching across the Mount Kenya region and beyond. Through strategic investments like the Meru Maziwa Millers feed factory and the "Race to a Million" initiative, the union continues to drive innovation and growth in Kenya's dairy sector.
